Ikea shopping haul with little sis

Went out today with my sis to Ikea to get some stuff to beautify our home.

First stop lunch and boy we had a feast ! Just look at the bountiful spread .

Meatball were a bit of a let down wasn't as flavorful as I remember them to be but the almond cake more then made up for the disappointment only at $3.80 with a free cup of latte. Savoring each bite as I ate the cake indeed the taste was heavenly.

We got a whole bunch of lovely items during our spree.

Got a set of bed sheets for myself totally love the rose print on it cost about $30 a little ex but am totally in love with it . I believe my lucky panda and melody agrees with me haha they look very pleased with the new sheets.

I know this is nothing new but you gotta agree that wall sticker really, liven up those boring walls . Sis and I got a bunch for our living room and her bed room.

Love the door curtain that we got as well haha , my sis cleverly use those as dividers to separate her study area from her entertainment and rest areas of her room. Perfect for cam whoring as well lol.

Sorry bad lighting and hate my teeth , totally gotta get them fixed.

Sis got this as well to hang in her room. 3  gorgeous paintings for a very affordable price of $29.90 totally worth it :)

I also got some magazine stands for my notes and school stuff , looks really sleek . Not bad for $7.90 huh ?

Well if your tight in budget but really want to living up the place you can always count on IKEA !!!
I will definitely stop by again in search of awesome stuff.

Back to school - day 1

I'm all set to going back to school , bought a bunch of essentials such as a pencil box , note books ect ...

Totally love my new forever friend's pencil box. Affordable and pretty, just the way I like it.

My dearest friend Si Jie gave me a whole bunch of stationery, she used to work for a supplier years ago and the clever gal stocked up on stationery buying them for her company at cost price. Thanks to her I'm all ready to go.

The first lesson was quiet a mouthful to swallow it has been 10 years since I stepped in to a classroom and I do find it difficult to catch up. Am really very thank for for Si Jie being my course mate , always telling me to relax, chill. Thank god for girl pals! Isn't she just the sweetest.

Well I am not going to admit to defeat  so easily, I am going to work my ass off and prove to those who look down on me.

Wish me luck dear online friends ! I know I'm going to need it .

Haha I have a life long wish to visit Japan, Perhaps I will one day . Till then I can only use my imagination and photoshop hahaha....

The dress I'm wearing is from My little Bow . http://mylittlebow.com/
Do check them out !

despicable me 2

I was a huge fan of Despicable me but part two sadly feel a bit flat for me.

Yes it was really sweet that Gru our dear villain turn good guy stepped up to the role of being a great father to  Agnes, Edith and Margo.Throwing princess birthday parties and keeping potential boyfriend/heart breakers away.

The introduction of new characters didn't flow well , it was like they were just jammed packed in to the movie for the sake of being there.

Lucy was sweet but from the start there was no connections and signs of Gru even being attracted to her when everyone else was and he suddenly just falls for her ? I don't buy that haha.

El Macho just appeared here and there and for the final battle his character I felt was pretty 2 dimensional, doesn't give you the vibe of a true villain and what is with the chicken totally lame.

The charm of despicable me was the relationship between Gru and the girls, there was too much focus on Lucy and the minions. The girls were like placed in the back seat , a side story . A few lines here and there and very short clip about the girls I hardly even saw Edith.

Dr. Nefario's brief departure from Gru's  team was alright because he wanted miss the old days but coming back because no one messes with his family ? Why did he help El macho with kidnapping and transforming the minions in the first place if 'family' mattered so much to him ?

The minions were up to standard with their madcap humor and entices, I guess they were the factor that saved the movie from being a b rate movie. Love their renditions of boy band songs .

Just my Point of view of the movie seriously needs a better storyline.

I give this movie  2 clouds

Never too old for school

If you're a working adult and wish to go back to school, don't ever let anyone or anything stop you.

I know there must be a million thoughts running through your mind at this moment like

1. Do I have enough money to pay for my school fees?

2. Do I have the time? After all I am working full time.

3. Which school and is the cert even recognised ?

4. What course should I take is it relevant to my job?

I was in your shoes for many years ...

Mainly because I didn't have financial support and didn't know which school or course to choose .Until  last year, When  I got a job as an admin staff, I finally decided that I would take up a course at
SSTC - School for further education.Preparatory Course for London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Diploma in Business Administration. I felt it was relevant to my job and in the long run the skills I pick up might be handy.

Do I have the time, I believe that if you make the effort you will find the time. I am taking evening classes and am thankful that my boss allowed me to take an hour off during school day and pay the hour back on another day.

For funding of your courses there is help available, in my case I am a union member and I approached NTUC to get SEP. The grant that I was given really helped a lot, I also chose to pay the rest of my school fees by down payment.

Do look out for posters that the government have at bus stops from time to time, I once saw a study grant being offered but it was meant for people aged 35 and above.

Which schools are recognised ? During my search I came to know that

Government Polytechnic

Nanyang poly - http://www.nyp.edu.sg/sbm/continuing-education-and-training-cet

Ngee Ann Poly - http://www.np.edu.sg/cet/courses/Pages/ptdiploma.aspx

These course can be completed within 2.5 to 3 years and you will will receive a CQA of S$1,000 upon graduation.

Private Schools

MDIS - Been around for a long time, Recognised in the private sector but according to a friend you can't use the diplomas to apply for university.

PSB and Kaplan - I know are recognised but it mostly depends on your employer if they accept it.

In the end I chose SSTC as they have been around since the 1970s and because SSTC was the first training centre to get approval by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to conduct the Certificate of Business Studies - Secretarial Practice (CBS-SP).

LCCI has been recognised in the private sector and sometimes when you do a job search on admin work employers ask if you have a LCCI accreditation.

Well I hope this has been helpful dear friends, Wish me luck :)
