Handmade beaded crystal necklace by Lilac Jewels - Sweet Bunny

Youth entrepreneur- I got to know a lovely girl who runs Lilac Jewels via social media. It has been a couple of months since we exchanged messages back and forth to get to know her business better. I just must say I am very impressed with the young lady who started her very own handmade jewellery business and even shares a tip or two with me from time to time on how to improve sales and better connect with your audience.

It was an honour to be her first customer; I purchased a customised crystal chip necklace from her, as I do not quite fancy the gold-coloured chain of the original design, but glad customisation was available. I liked that there was a selection of mini crystals to choose from in different colours, the pastel stones went well with a silver chain, and the workmanship was impressive. I really like the style of her dainty jewellery and would

Thoughtfully packaged jewellery- I love all the freebies she packed in the tiny parcel she sent me an intricately made necklace, a ring and a couple of stickers with a thank you note. I could tell that a lot of consideration was created with the tiny tags she attached to each piece of jewellery carefully placed in a purple organza bag,

I invited Lilac Jewels to guest post on my blog, do lend her your support.

I started my small business to make affordable yet lovely jewellery for everyone. Jewellery should not just be for those who can afford high-quality ones, leaving those who cannot afford them to buy the lower-quality ones.

Such as necklaces that tarnish easily or bracelets that break when worn. Thus, I set up Lilac Jewels. to make dainty and pretty jewellery everyone can afford. Since young, I have always liked crafting. Especially beading.

Handmade items are way more significant than store-bought ones. I have also aspired to help the less fortunate. Thus, every 20% of my earnings will go to a charity organisation.

Jewellery is not overpriced pieces of gold; jewellery is a piece of decoration used to make someone happy and more confident. Behind the scenes is a lowly paid worker struggling to make ends meet just putting the jewellery pieces together. However, small businesses make everything by hand. Even the cards they give out are designed by hand!

Unique Singapore Sticker - Fei Mao Liulian/ Fat Cat Durian | RussNing - Sweet bunny

I used to collect stickers back in Primary School. Would get angry when my younger sister traded my “pretty” stickers for "ugly” common ones. I just started using Tic ock lately and I love the exposure to many small businesses one that really caught my eye was Fei Mao LiuLian/Fat Cat Durian it somehow rekindled my love for stickers. As an adult stickers can be used to decorate almost anything, in my case I will be using them to different shade my mug from others in the office. Everyone is given the same corporate mug so adding an adorable sticker would help me different shade my mug from others.

Personally, I do like eating durians but I understand that they can be pungent to others, It is an occasional treat I indulge in.

Durian Stickers Illustrations – Never have I seen the king of fruits being depicted in such an adorable way, the owners of Fei Mao LiuLian/Fat Cat Durian are avid fans of the fruit and have a vast knowledge about the different types of Durian and share many fun facts on their Instagram and don’t get me started about the adorable character that they have come up with I found them very original and stunning.

I order 2 stickers from them and they have graciously given me an extra one. I am thrilled to have 3 out of 4 of the Fei Mao Sticker Design. I really like the yellow cat position in the Durian where the fruit should be its genius! I really like its Cheerful personality. It represents the Mao Shan Wang/ Cat On Mountain Top Durian a bittersweet cream durian that is sometimes used to make durian cakes. I like the quality of the stickers, semi-glossy and scratch proof. I also like the packaging as there is a story about each character and the thank you card was a lovely touch as well.

I have started a page on my blog to help budding artists like Fei Mao LiuLian/Fat Cat Durian gain exposure so they can get the support to continue creating many more beautiful and creative illustrations. As in all my blogpost for artists, I invited them to write an introduction about themselves.

Our small art & craft business is called Fei Mao Liulian (θ‚₯猫榴莲). Fei Mao Liulian (FML) directly translates to "Fat Cat Durian" in mandarin.

As Durian lovers, we take inspiration from the different types of Durian to design our artwork. We are starting off with 3 main characters – Fei Mao (a chubby cat inspired by the Mao Shan Wang durian), Boo (a carefree panda inspired by the Green Bamboo durian) and Phoebe (a grumpy chick inspired by the Golden Phoenix durian).

We'll be launching a series of FML products in the near future as well as introduce new characters, so do keep a lookout for them πŸ˜€ πŸ‘‰πŸ» Instagram

I wish them every success do lend them your support and tell your family and friends about them.

Clay Earrings in Singapore Featuring The Shy Crafter - Sweet bunny/The Shy Crafter

I am guilty of spending too much time on Instagram but who can blame me when there are so many awesome artists and crafters showcasing their delicately made handy craft on the platform.

It all began when the_Shy_crafter followed my Instagram account naturally I would follow her back to lend her the support and soon before I knew it, I was hooked looking at the miniature food items she had made into earrings, pins and various other accessories.

Beautiful packaging for handmade products- I really adore how the_Shy_crafter packaged her items, I purchased a pair of adorable 9-layer Kueh, 九层糕 earrings and was just expecting it to be in a poly mailer bag and wrapped in bubble wrap but to my surprise, The packaging consisted of a plastic bag with a meaningful quote on it, a kraft box, a handmade card with a handwritten note and an alcohol swab which I felt was very thoughtful because I could use the swab to sterilise the earring studs. From how she packed her items you could tell that she pays a lot of attention to details and is a very caring person.

The earrings are just so adorable and well made and put together, with no signs of glue stains as you see in most mass-produced earrings. I also love the vibrant colours of the 9-layer Kueh and how the earring is so well finished that they glisten in the light. They are also not heavy and a breeze to put on because the plastic disc of the earrings provides support for the earlobes when wearing bigger and heavier earrings.

Reasons to buy handmade products- It is refreshing to have something made by hand rather than the factory mass-produced earrings. Clay art is painstakingly made by hand and takes a lot of time, patients and effort. They aren't cookie-cutter items and all have their unique aesthetics. It is very personal as the item was made and sometimes customised especially for you, not just something you pick off a shelf from a store.

I had such a great chat with her on Instagram that I knew I just have to invite her as a guest on my blog the second half of this post is by her.

the_Shy_crafter I’m a Singapore-based, self-taught clay enthusiast. Mother of 4 awesome kiddos.

A very crafty person by nature, l like to bake, crochet, embroidery, & draw too. I chanced upon polymer clay in December 2020, when relatives introduced it to my second son (who has Autism Spectrum Disorder). He loves to play with clay, to relieve his sensory-stress buildup. While facilitating his play, I discovered my love for clay moulding too.

Started “the_Shy_crafter” on Instagram on 27 December 2020 to feature my polymer clay pieces. Turning my clay pieces into wearables is my passion. Not only do I make earrings, but I also do pins, bracelets, necklaces, keychains, mobile phone charms & even figurines too! I also take custom orders.

I love making impressions of miniature food, local snacks especially. Since then, I’ve also made mini polymer clay desserts, flowers & even figures of paw friends!

My most popular designs are the Rainbow Kueh, Ang Ku Kueh & Tutu Kueh.

I take orders through IG dm @the_Shy_crafter and https://theshycrafter.cococart.co/
